What is the 4.0 GPA scale?

Does an A+ count as more than 4.0?
On most unweighted scales, an A+ is capped at 4.0, the same as an A. A minority of schools use a 4.3 scale where an A+ is 4.3. This chart caps A+ at 4.0.
