Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my shoe size at home?
Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, and measure the distance from the wall to the mark in centimeters. Do it in the afternoon (feet swell during the day), wear the socks you'd normally wear, and measure both feet — feet are rarely identical, so use the larger one. Enter that length above.
Are US and UK shoe sizes the same?
No. A US size runs about half a size larger in number than the UK size for the same foot. For example, a US women's 8 is a UK 6, and a US men's 10 is a UK 9.5. The tool converts exactly, so you don't have to remember the offset.
What is my EU shoe size?
European sizes use the Paris-point scale, where each size is two-thirds of a centimeter. They run roughly 30 numbers higher than US sizes — a US women's 8 is about EU 38.5, and a US men's 9 is about EU 42.5. Enter your US, UK, or foot length above to see the EU match.
Should I size up or down between sizes?
If your foot length falls between two sizes, size up — a shoe that's a touch long can be adjusted with an insole or thicker sock, but a too-short shoe cramps the toes and can't be fixed. For running shoes, most people go up a half size from their dress-shoe size.
Why do shoe sizes differ between brands?
There is no enforced global standard, so each brand builds on its own last (the foot-shaped mold). Nike tends to run small, while many European brands run large. Always treat your converted size as a starting point and check the brand's own size guide when possible.
